Cambodia continues to develop its regulatory environment during the first four months of 2024. In March, the Royal Government of Cambodia (RGC) promulgated a new Law on Waterway Transport. This law came into effect amid the RGC’s recent plan for the development of the Funan Techo Canal, an approximately 180-kilometer-long waterway that connects the kingdom’s capital with its coastal province. There are also new updates on other areas such as investment, natural resources, and tax. This Monthly Legal Update will highlight these changes.
