Singapore, 13 January 2024 – RHTLaw Asia mourns the passing of its Senior Honorary Fellow Mr Thean Lip Ping, who passed away on 12 January 2024. He joined RHTLaw Asia as Senior Consultant on 3 January 2012 following decades of legal practice, contributions to legal scholarship and judicial appointments in the High Court of Singapore and the Court of Appeal.
RHTLaw Asia Managing Partner Mr Azman Jaafar said, “We are deeply saddened to hear of LP’s passing and our thoughts go out to his family and friends. He will be remembered for his kindness, knowledge and excellent judicial temperament.”
Mr Thean was an exemplary lawyer. In 2009, the Law Society of Singapore awarded Mr Thean the prestigious C C Tan Award, which honours a member who exemplifies the highest traditional qualities of the Bar.
