Having practised law for more than 20 years, Dato’ Syed Naqiz has acquired in-depth knowledge not only on legal intricacies but has also gained a solid knowledge based on various industries ranging from finance, power & energy, oil & gas, construction, automotive, defence, IT & IP, telecommunications, hospitality, retail, manufacturing, FMCG and logistics.

He has also been named as a leading Malaysian lawyer in Who’s Who Legal and Asia Business Law and sectorally, as a leading lawyer in Corporate, Projects, IP and Technology. From an industry viewpoint, he is able to share insightful industry practices, standards, norms and trends given his involvement in various industries, in particular, technology, logistics, retail, asset management and real estate.

Dato’ Syed Naqiz has represented and acted against some of the largest multinational companies, public listed companies, governmental and regulatory bodies as well as government linked companies. He is also often invited to speak and to advise on these matters by industry members and associations.

He has been involved in transactions and negotiations of various agreements such as asset transfer agreements, share sale and purchase agreements, restructuring for compliance with foreign equity guidelines, partnership agreements, teaming agreements, management agreements, outsourcing agreements, collaboration agreements, joint venture agreements, trust structures, development agreements and franchises.

Thanks to his in-depth knowledge and familiarity with the telecommunication industry, Dato’ Syed Naqiz was also at one point appointed as a Commission Member of the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission, the regulatory body to the communications and multimedia industry in Malaysia.
