RHTLaw Asia Building & Construction Law Annual Review 2019

We are pleased to present to you our RHTLaw Asia Building & Construction Law Annual Review 2019.

This publication presents all the more significant construction cases that arose in Singapore in 2019, and some of the UK cases in 2019 that may be of relevance to us. In contrast to 2020, 2019 now appears to be a fairly uneventful year, with a notable event being the coming into force on 15 December 2019 of the Security of Payment Amendment Act.

Although this publication is in relation to the major construction-related legislation and cases arising in 2019, given the life-changing event of the Covid-19 pandemic, we have also sought to address the Covid-19 (Temporary Measures) Act 2020 (Covid-19 Act), passed recently this year to give some relief to the construction industry. There will be important consequences for the construction industry where the Covid-19 Act applies, and where it does not apply.
