RHTLaw Asia assisted Geopost/DPDgroup in its investment in Ninja Van’s US$578 million Series E round

RHTLaw Asia has assisted Geopost/DPDgroup in its investment in Ninja Van‘s Series E round, which raised USD578 million. Geopost/DPDgroup, the largest parcel delivery network in Europe with sales of €11 billion in 2020, was the lead investor in this round.

This new fundraising will help drive Ninja Van’s ambition of becoming a leading regional logistics player in Southeast Asia and strengthens the partnership of GeoPost/DPDgroup and Ninja Van. In this round, new investors with deep expertise in e-commerce, such as the Alibaba Group, joined Geopost/DPDgroup. Geopost’s investment, which increased its stake to 40%, is a new milestone in the deployment of its strategy.

The deal was led by Partner (Foreign Lawyer) and Co-Head of Corporate & Capital Markets Practice, Erwan Barre. Based in the Singapore office, Erwan advises clients across Asia Pacific on cross-border corporate transactions principally in the technology and healthcare industries. In addition to being recognised as a leading lawyer in the Who’s Who Legal 2020 and 2021 editions, he is also ranked in Chambers Asia in 2021.
