RHT Rajan Menon Foundation Charity Golf 2021 raises more than S$520,000 for local causes in education, eldercare as well as the environment and sustainability

Singapore, 14 October 2021 – RHT Rajan Menon Foundation Ltd (“Foundation”) raised more than S$520,000 for three local primary beneficiaries at its sixth annual charity golf event held at Sentosa Golf Club. The Guest-of-Honour for this year’s event was Mr Gan Kim Yong, Minister for Trade and Industry.

Funds raised from this year’s charity golf event will support a diverse group of beneficiaries and causes, including education, eldercare as well as the environment and sustainability:

  • Singapore Management University Pro Bono Centre

Provides opportunities for law students to integrate and appreciate academic work with clinical experience, instils legal professionalism and social responsibility in law students towards indigents and disenfranchised communities, and sensitises law students to social justice issues.

  • PCF Sparkle Care Centres 

Provides seniors with quality person-centred healthy and social care services so as to improve their physical, cognitive, emotional and social well-being.

  • Nature Society (Singapore) 

Promotes nature awareness and nature appreciation, advocates conservation of the natural environment in Singapore, and forges participation and collaboration in local regional and international efforts in preserving Earth’s biodiversity.

Since its inception in 2015, the Foundation has raised more than S$3 million for more than 15 charitable organisations in line with the Foundation’s philanthropic focus areas of education, the environment and sustainability, disadvantaged groups as well as the arts and sports.

Associate Professor Ho Peng Kee, Patron of RHT Rajan Menon Foundation, said, “The Foundation continues to seek to establish a strong philanthropic culture in our business community based on our belief that success and profitability are intertwined with the sustained prosperity and the health of the community we serve.”

Staggered across five days in the months of July, September and October 2021, a total of 200 golfers participated in the charity golf event at Sentosa Golf Club with strict safe management measures in place. The event is supported by various generous sponsors including Chow Tai Fook Charity Foundation (Singapore) Limited, Life Bridge Partners Pte Ltd and Olam International Limited.

Mr Tan Chong Huat, Chairman of RHT Rajan Menon Foundation, said, “Despite the impact of Covid-19, we remain determined to continue organising meaningful events and activities that support our beneficiaries and contribute to worthy causes.”
