Daniel LUBIS

Having been based in Singapore since 2009, Daniel has strong negotiating skills and represented clients in a variety of industries, with practice focuses on mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, foreign investments, major project developments, and civil law in the region. His clients include both global and regional businesses, as well as start-up companies.

Daniel’s representative career experience on energy and natural resources includes advising governments, operators, contractors, and private investors in investments, disposals, or transactions structured as concessions, PPPs or privatisations. 

His experience in TMT encompasses matter related to IT system development and procurement, software licencing and delivery, data centre arrangements, e-commerce, cloud/online services, data protection, joint ventures, and new technologies.

• Advising an energy giant on its €1.4 billion investment to increase its biofuel production capacity in Singapore, including advising on the long-term sale and purchase of required feedstock, and agreements relating to the construction and operation of storage facilities and the provision of ancillary services and utilities
• Advising a solar energy company for their joint venture and solar energy development projects in Indonesia, including the engineering and procurement contracts an operation & maintenance contracts for the purposes of project financing
• Advising a Malaysian lender in relation to a term loan facility of up to US$50 million to finance its purchase of palm oil plantation in Indonesia
• Advising a subsidiary of Indonesia state-owned company, as terminal owner of a LNG Terminal in providing LNG Hub services for a Japan company
• Advising a venture compay in joining FinAccel private investment prior to IPO, to boost the total commitment of FinAccel’s private investment in public equity deal to more than US$125 million
• Advising a blockchain company for their product compliance under Securities and Futures Act (Chapter 289 of Singapore), including its data protection and acknowledgement of trademark in the regional
• Supporting a global hotel brand on its EMEA franchise and hotel management agreements, including data protection advice and the integration of new technologies into the hotel operating arrangements
