In his keynote presentation, Dr Leo Suryadinata, Visiting Senior Fellow, ISEAS-Yusof Ishak Institute, covered briefly China’s trade and investment in Indonesia, as well as China’s projects, problems, and issues. He will also discuss China’s political, cultural and religious policies toward Indonesia, which in his view, have achieved some limited success. Dr Leo followed a brief examination on the security relations between Beijing and Jakarta, especially with regard to the Natuna Sea and Indonesia’s EEZ that remains a thorny issue.
