SPACs – Game changer or reckless craze?
The global business community is faced with the largest economic recession caused by the impact of COVID-19 in 2020. Nevertheless, in an era of high liquidity and low interest rates, attention has turned to special purpose acquisition companies (SPACs) which may well become a viable alternative to traditional IPOs for fund-raising in this region.
The Singapore Exchange (SGX) has launched a consultation on Special Purpose Acquisition Companies (SPACs), with proposals to address some of the risks posed by this listing structure.
