| Professor Leslie Chew Dean, School of Law, Singapore University of Social Sciences | Professor Leslie Chew has 42 years of legal experience, seven years of which was in the judiciary as a Senior District Judge and was appointed Senior Counsel by the Supreme Court – Singapore’s equivalent of the Queen’s Counsel in England – in 2000. Professor Chew practices primarily at the Commercial Bar. From time to time he has represented clients in commercial crime or white collar cases. He has acted as counsel for major banks in Singapore and a number of private banks. He has also acted in medical cases on behalf of the restructured hospitals and private hospitals. He is an accomplished commercial arbitrator and has practised as an arbitrator and arbitration counsel since 1993. He has sat as presiding arbitrator and co-arbitrator in SIAC, ICC and UNCITRAL arbitrations in various jurisdictions including India, Nepal and South Korea. He was a former president of the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. |

| Chester Lee Drum M.D., Ph.D. Senior Consultant National University Hospital (NUH) | Chester Drum, M.D. Ph.D., is a senior consultant and life-long patient advocate with appointments at the National University Hospital and the National University of Singapore. Dr. Drum received an M.D. and Ph.D. from the University of Chicago and completed a cardiology fellowship at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. He then worked with Institute Professor Robert Langer at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and received the Burroughs Wellcome Career Award for Medical Scientists. After moving to Singapore, he has been a recipient of a Clinician Scientist Award from the NMRC, funding from the BMRC and multiple innovation awards from the Singapore MIT Alliance for Research and Technology (SMART). Doctor Drum has over 20 years of clinical experience in managed care, private, public and academic healthcare settings in both the US and Asia. He is the holder of multiple patents and his research has been featured in publications such as the New York Times and Nature. His current research focusses on the use of deep phenotyping techniques to predict and improve patient outcomes. To ensure real world impact of biomarker data, Dr. Drum has co-developed a distributed ledger system for medical information sharing and validation which is being trialed in multiple settings. |
